about
Dancing Blind is a ballad inspired by a friend called Alvy. The song is partly an expression of sorrow, because it tells of a friend losing her sight. But it is very much a song of hope, resolution, and the deep fulfilment of somehow winning through even for just a little while. Celebrate the moment.
Alvy's story is a testament to human resilience and hope in the face of adversity. May her story and the song it inspired, inspire you too.
All proceeds of downloads will be donated to the RNIB (Royal National Institution for the Blind) under our registered supporter's number 1647418.
lyrics
Dancing Blind
See the Lady, she looks so fine
On the dance-floor she leads the line
Her body's flowing each step in time
What you're not knowing, she's dancing blind
She's dancing blind, she's dancing good
She's dancing like, it's understood
That although she cannot see
She tread the floor, like you and me
They safe life is a mystery
And what it brings, we just can't see
Sometimes darkness, the fates decide
She lost her sight, and got stuck inside
Stuck inside Lord, she was stuck inside
No longer free or running wild
Though near and dear ones, treat her kind
It's kind of lonesome, being stuck inside
Her love of music, rolled along
Then one fine day, she hears a song
Felt the people, dance in time
Their joyful laughter made her strong
Made her strong Lord, made her strong
She longed to join the dancing throng
Hadn't lost her her dancing feet
She could feel the driving beat
She weaves the patterns in her mind
Makes her moves from deep inside
She weaves the pattern in her mind
When she's dancing, she's dancing blind
And I just want to hold her tight
